Unfathomable Potential
Why It’s Never Too Late to Chase Your Dreams
I’ll be honest—I’ve had moments where I wonder if I’m crazy for doing this. A 45-year-old rapper, trying to go full-time, starting from almost nothing? The self-doubt creeps in, whispering:
"Is it too late?"
"Who’s gonna listen to me?"
"Should I just move on?"
It’s easy to believe that if you haven’t “made it” by a certain point, you never will. That your window has closed. That the world has already decided your worth. But then, I come across words like these:
"Life is filled with potential that is truly unfathomable." —Daisaku Ikeda, Buddhist Philosopher
That line hits deep because it’s true—we don’t even know what we’re truly capable of. Most of the limits we believe in aren’t real. They’re imagined barriers we’ve built in our own minds, reinforced by rejection, fear, and a society obsessed with youth.
But the truth? People do break through. They do succeed at things that seemed impossible. And every success story starts the same way: someone refused to quit or Never Give Up!
The Battle in Your Own Mind
For anyone chasing a dream later in life, the biggest enemy isn’t competition, lack of time, or money—it’s self-doubt. It’s that little voice telling you that your time has passed, that you should be “realistic.” But ask yourself:
Who told you that?
What makes you believe that it’s too late?
What if that voice in your head is just wrong?
For years, I told myself that rapping was just something I did for fun. That I had responsibilities, a family, and that I missed my shot. But that wasn’t the truth—it was just a convenient excuse. The real truth? I was scared. Scared of putting myself out there. Scared of failing.
If you’ve been telling yourself a similar story, I want you to challenge it. Ask yourself:
👉 What would my life look like if I stopped assuming failure and started assuming success?
The moment I flipped that switch, everything changed.
Actionable Steps to Overcome Self-Doubt and Move Forward
Whether you’re a musician, writer, entrepreneur, or chasing any dream that feels “too late,” here’s what I’ve learned about fighting through the doubt and actually making progress:
1. Give Yourself Permission to Start Again
A lot of people never even try because they feel like their past failures define them. Maybe you’ve tried before and didn’t get anywhere. Maybe you quit. Maybe life got in the way.
So what?
Success isn’t about never failing. It’s about trying again, but this time, smarter.
2. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection
One of the biggest traps is waiting until you feel “ready.” News flash: you’ll never feel ready. If I had waited until I had the perfect skills, the perfect strategy, or a guaranteed outcome, I’d still be sitting on the sidelines.
Instead of obsessing over perfection, set small, achievable goals that build momentum. Example:
If you want to rap, write one verse a day.
If you want to start a business, talk to one potential customer a day.
If you want to write a book, commit to 200 words a day.
Small wins build confidence. Confidence builds action. Action leads to results.
3. Reframe Your Thoughts About Time
You might think, "If I had started 10 years ago, I’d be successful by now."
But that logic is backwards. If you start today, where could you be 10 years from now?
The time will pass either way. Wouldn’t you rather spend it building something meaningful?
4. Find Proof That It’s Possible
One of the best ways to kill self-doubt is to find people who have done what you want to do.
2 Chainz didn’t drop his first major album until he was 35.
Colonel Sanders didn’t start KFC until he was in his 60s.
Stan Lee created Spider-Man when he was 40.
Success doesn’t have an expiration date. Surround yourself with stories of people who made it happen later in life. Let them be your proof that it’s not too late for you either.
5. Stop Waiting for External Validation
Nobody is going to hand you permission to chase your dream. Nobody is going to come along and say, “Hey, you’re good enough now.” That’s an internal decision.
I used to think I needed thousands of fans to feel legitimate. But the truth is, I just needed to believe in myself first.
Whatever your dream is, act like it’s already yours. Show up every day and do the work. The right people will come when you put yourself out there consistently.
Your Potential is Unfathomable
If you’re struggling with self-doubt, I want you to know this: you are not alone. Every artist, entrepreneur, and creator has felt like quitting at some point. The difference between those who make it and those who don’t?
They keep going.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the next step.
I’m betting on myself. Are you?
Drop a comment and tell me—what’s the dream you’re chasing, and what’s holding you back? Let’s talk.

Great writing. Very true. Your potential is unmeasurable, and if you're in an environment of people afraid to pursue something then external permission doesn't exist, so give yourself permission.
